This course is designed for the IB-major or IB-minor doctoral students to develop The course is organized as a weekly seminar discussion format where each participant has to come prepared with the designated readings and actively participate in the paper-specific discussions that will include identifying and clearly understanding the research objectives, unique contributions, limitations, and extensions of each paper. During each session, I may spend about 30 to 45 minutes to summarize the key learning and the substantive importance of the session’s research topic to both theory and practice of marketing strategy. Because discussion and debate are fundamental to a seminar of this type, the remainder of the seminar time will be devoted to inter-student discussion of each paper during which the students will primarily drive the paper discussions while I will play the role of being a discussion moderator and facilitator. My role will be to ensure that the discussions are kept on track and that we have covered all important topics related to a particular paper before moving on to the next.
